There's something about leather cymbal bags that attract us drummers. I mean, the feel, touch and smell of real leather is always a sign of quality. But to us, it's a bit more than that. It's a nod to the past, a certain romance for the drum aesthetics of the 1950s and 1960s. Maybe even a tribute to those who paved the way before us.

The Slick Real Leather Cymbal Bag is a Swedish design that came to my attention when I was looking for that cymbal bag for life. It ticked all the boxes with 24 inch cymbal capacity, real leather, and vintage aesthetics. It's a Swedish minimal design, but at the same time the red leather really makes the design pop.

It kind of reminds me of a giant delicious red Skittle. When you get up close to it, other than the irresistible smell of leather, you can see a mix of box and top stitching, which gives the overall shape of the bag. Extra leather and stitching is used along with these retro rivets to give the extra strength to the two sided handles that, when gripped, gives that old familiar real leather sound.

Brass buckles either side are used to connect the leather strap with those thick brass clips. I mainly use the handles, but if you're a shoulder strap girl or guy, it is adjustable, so you'll be happy at any height.

The brass zips are thick and chunky, and that goes the same for the zip chain, which ends halfway down the back. Now this is a good time to talk about the padding. Beyond the leather is a high density padding foam, which is 20 millimeters in thickness. When you open the bag, the only word to describe the interior lining is plush.

It comes with three dividers to protect the symbols from scraping off one another. By the way, they're all removable if that's something that you want to do. Majority of the time, my bag housed a 22 inch ride, two 19 inch crashes, and a 15 inch hi hat. When it was full, it was around three and a quarter inches in thickness, which, by the way, is pretty much the same as what it is when there's nothing in it.

So in the last month and a half, I've been traveling with this cymbal bag. It's been with me for a total of 28 shows. It's been in and out of cars, vans, dragged in and out of venues, and thrown at the back of many stages, big and small. You know, like any other bag you would have as a working drummer. It's held up very well, and it has been the strongest, and definitely the best looking cymbal bag I've ever used.

And people will say, well where are the side pockets? Is there a place for me to put my stick bag? And the answer to that is no. This is where you put your Cymbal. It's very simple. For me, this is exactly what I want from a symbol bag. No nonsense, minimal design, retro style, quality craftsmanship that's made with great thought and love.

As the company say. It's not just a Cymbal bag. It's a statement. Guys, I'll leave a link in the description where you can check this out. Just remember that the opinions are mine and mine alone. This is not a paid for review. No money exchanged hands. I have no affiliate would sit bag. No copy approval was needed.
