Hey, Brendan Jones from H91 Drum School in Galway City, providing both online and private drum coaching. Setting up the first drum kit is generally left to a parent and can be a bit of a daunting task. There are alot of different part to put together, from tom drums, snares, hardware, tom arms, bass drum pedal and much more it can be overwhelming.

One of the things i’ve found when teaching beginners drum lessons in Galway city in Ireland and online is that parents and beginner drummers set the drum kit up where everything is in place, however it is not ergonomically in place in order to play drums more efficiently. This can be a bit of a problem for a beginner drummer and especially for kids that wants to learn drums, and generally it’s only a few tweaks that make it perfect.

So that’s why I made the video underneath, it helps drummers, parents that are setting up a drum kit or even for a drummer who’s wondering about how to set up a drum kit correctly with ergonomics in mind. Most beginner drum kits will come with instructions but that can be more frustrating to understand, this video will help you nail it and will show you some of the heights, angels and distances to avoid. You will start with the Bass drum and build the drum kit form there.

I hope you enjoyed this blog and hope it helped you. Please let me know if it did and if you have any question get in contact with me.
