A modern twist on tradition drumming

Hey, Brendan Jones from H91 Drum School in Galway City, providing both online and private drum coaching. Ive been studying a different kind of drumming for the last couple of years and have started passing it on to both adult students, children and teenagers that come for drum lessons here in Galway City. Drum line snare drumming is one of the oldest types of drumming and was originally a tool used in war in order to signal different formations on the battle field.

This traditional style of drumming is so beneficial to learn improving the students memory, the brains processing speed and cognitive response in coordination. For children and teenagers this can increase their academic performance in school. With these drum lessons traditional grip when holding the sticks is taught which will unleash a different side to creativity than the standard drumming grip.

Snare drumming has become popular across social media and can be a very creative outlet for any individual wanting to create original content on Youtube, TikTok, Instagram or Snap Chat. Mixing this traditional drumming with popular culture and with a few stick tricks thrown in, it can look pretty cool……..

With all drum lessons now online these one to one drum lessons are available anywhere in Ireland and you don’t need a drum kit or even a drum. You can start out with just a drum Pad and sticks which would be no more than 50€.
